Privacy Policy — MT: Omnibus Price & EU GARAN

What the app does

MT: Omnibus Price & EU GARAN records the selling price and compare-at price of a store's product variants over time, computes the lowest price of the last 30 days as required by EU Directive 2019/2161, and writes that value to a variant metafield so the theme can display it.

Data we store

• Store data: the store domain, an access token (encrypted at rest), the store currency and the app settings.
• Price data: variant identifiers, product and variant titles, SKUs, and a dated log of price changes, kept for the retention period of the plan (90 days to 2 years).
• Write log: a record of every metafield write sent to Shopify.

We do not collect or store customer personal data. The theme block adds no tracking and sets no cookies.

Permissions

read_products to read prices; write_products used only to write the merchant_tools.omnibus_* variant metafields. The app never modifies prices, discounts, orders or customers.

Where data is processed

Servers and the database are hosted by OVHcloud in Gravelines (France), within the European Union. Encrypted backups are stored by Scaleway in Paris (France) and kept for at most 35 days.

Emails

We keep the store's contact email to send one setup email after installation, with the steps to activate the app, and to answer your support requests. We send no newsletters and no marketing emails. Reply STOP to that email, or write to support@merchanttools.eu, and we will not email you again except to answer your own support requests. If you reply STOP, we keep only a record of that choice (your store domain and a one-way hash of the email address), even after you uninstall, so that it is still respected if you reinstall. If a sale price is above the lowest price of the last 30 days, the app may also send a compliance alert to that address; replying STOP turns these alerts off too.

If you tick “Merchant Tools may email me about this app” (in Settings, or on the “Can we email you?” card of the app's home page), we keep the email address you agreed to, the store name, the admin language and the date. We may then email you about MT: Omnibus Price & EU GARAN, for example to ask what is missing; we also send, once per installation, a few weeks after it and only if you use the app, an email asking whether you would share your experience in a review on the Shopify App Store (stores installed from 21 October 2026); and we send one email after you uninstall it to ask what was missing. This consent is separate from compliance alerts. Untick the box in Settings, or reply STOP, to withdraw your consent at any time. After uninstall, this record is kept only until Shopify's shop/redact request 48 hours later, then deleted; it is deleted at once if you withdraw.

Retention and deletion

• When the app is uninstalled, all data for that store is deleted immediately (except your email consent, if you gave it: see Emails), and again on Shopify's shop/redact request 48 hours later; it leaves our encrypted backups within 35 days.
• We honor customers/data_request and customers/redact; as we hold no customer data, these return an empty record.

Sharing

We do not sell or share data with third parties. Data is only processed by our hosting providers (OVHcloud, and Scaleway for encrypted backups).
